Inagural Collegiate Joint Service Innovation Award, 2026

Held at the NAI Annual Conference, the Innovation Exchange brings together accomplished and emerging inventors from across NAI Member Institutions and the broader NAI community. Featuring exceptional inventions from universities, industry, national laboratories, military institutions, and the next generation of young innovators, NAI’s Innovation Exchange provides a distinguished national stage to share discoveries, celebrate ingenuity, and build connections across generations, disciplines, and institutions.

Introduced in 2026 as an expansion of the Innovation Exchange, the NAI Innovation Alliance (NAIIA) & Command Strategies Joint Service Innovation Award honors exceptional student inventions within the U.S. Military. The award is part of the NAI Innovation Alliance (NAIIA) & Command Strategies Joint Service Innovation Challenge, the nation’s premier recognition for cadet and midshipman innovation. It is reserved for the most distinguished research and invention talent across the Service Academies and ROTC programs. Recognized annually at the NAI Annual Conference, the award celebrates inventions and innovations with the potential to address critical challenges facing the military, strengthen national security, and improve the lives of those who serve.
