Is the 9th Annual Meeting being postponed or cancelled?

Our desire is to do what is in the best interest of our valued members. Due to the unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, we are cancelling NAI’s Ninth Annual Meeting scheduled for April 8-10 in Phoenix, AZ. As COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to spread, cancelling the meeting was necessary to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our distinguished members, guests and supporters. The next NAI Annual Meeting will be held April 7-9, 2021 in Tampa, Florida.


I am an elected NAI Fellow / Senior Member, what happens with my induction?

All inductees will be provided an additional year to their current induction window. We will be mailing your certificate to you and will be hosting an exclusive Fellow and Senior Member Induction Ceremony at the 10th Annual Meeting where United States Patent and Trademark Office officials will formally present your awards (e.g., challenge coin, trophy, rosette pin, and medal). We look forward to celebrating your induction into the academy at next year’s meeting.


I’ve already registered for the 9th Annual Meeting what happens now?

This year’s registration will be automatically transferred to the 10th Annual Meeting to be held April 7-9, 2021 in Tampa, Florida. All registrants will be contacted directly by an NAI staff member with additional information. Although we will not be able to convene in-person this year – in the spirit of NAI – we are exploring creative options to minimize any inconvenience, as well as capture and share as much #NAI2020 content as possible.


I’m not sure I will be able to attend the next Annual Meeting, what are my options?

If you are unsure if you will be able to attend the meeting next year, you are able to log into your registration online to cancel your registration by April 8th, 2020.

What happens to my hotel room reservation at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass?

The NAI has cancelled the group block of rooms associated with the Annual Meeting. Your room reservation has therefore been cancelled. No further action is needed.


Please note: hotels generally do not charge credit cards provided at the time of reservation until the day prior or day of arrival. However, if you prepaid your reservation, please be sure to contact the hotel directly if you do not see a refund in 10-15 business days.


What happens if I booked a room at a different hotel?

If you were attending the meeting but reserved a room at a different hotel, please contact the hotel directly to cancel the reservation.


What do I do if I purchased a flight to attend the Annual Meeting?

We understand each airline has their own policy for unexpected situations. Please contact the airline directly to inquire about their cancellation and refund policies.


I am an Annual Meeting Speaker or Sponsor, what happens now?

All speakers and sponsors will be contacted directly by an Annual Meeting team member with additional information.
